Frederic Cuin (Ableton Live Tutor)

Frederic Cuin

A certified Ableton Live Trainer, Freddy has worked with artists including Shy FX, BLIM, Above and Beyond, The Go Team and  Asian Dub Foundation in various London studios. He is an accomplished DJ, Producer and Live performer who also runs his own record label, Frogs. He is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who leaves no stone unturned in delivering excellence to his students and has recently contributed the Ableton DJ/Performance in the online school.

Ian Sherwin (Music Production Tutor)

Ian Sherwin

Ian is currently working on the forthcoming My Bloody Valentine album. He joined Point Blank fresh from engineering the Mercury nominated debut album by La Roux with the next one in the pipeline in late 2011. An experienced recording engineer, mixer and programmer, Ian has also worked alongside a diverse spectrum of artists including Primal Scream, Freemasons, Stereophonics, The Rakes and Terry Callier.

Ben Bristow (DJ Tutor)

Mr Bristow's mixing skills have featured on XFM, Kiss FM and ITV's London Tonight. He has flexed the decks alongside acts including Pendulum, The Freestylers, Shy FX, Fabio, Shut Up & Dance and DJ Yoda. Ben has held residencies at venues including The Social, The Rhythm Factory and Brixton's Jamm and as a tutor he has instructed some high profile students including Radio 1's Annie Nightingale and the star of Chris Morris's twisted comedy 'Nathan Barley'.

Ben Medcalf (Music Production Tutor)

Ben Medcalf aka The Rogue Element is an award-winning DJ / Producer winning 'Best Album' at Breakspoll awards. His acclaimed singles and remixes (including Freestylers and Crystal Method) have won support from the likes of James Zabiela, Meat Katie, Etienne de Crecy and Deadmau5. His DJ sets have rocked dancefloors across the globe from Europe to the US and Australia. He also supplied the acclaimed 'Twisted Electro' Sample Pack for Loopmasters.

Ian Button (HNC Music Production Tutor)

As guitarist with acclaimed band Death in Vegas, Ian has played gigs all over the world and recorded with the likes of Iggy Pop, Liam Gallagher and Paul Weller. Ian has also worked with artists including Arthur Baker, Dot Allison and Brandon Block and has amassed a wealth of experience in the music industry - all of which he's keen to pass on to you! Ian teaches the HNC course at degree level and is a tireless member of staff.

Daniel Herbert (Sound Design Tutor)

Daniel Herbert

Dan's work has been used extensively on TV and in films including sound design and music production for the BBC, Channel 4, Al Jazeera and CNN. He started out releasing house tracks through Ouch & Tasty in the mid 90’s. He’s also worked on projects with St Etienne, Billy Curry (Ultravox) and David Essex and has developed the live audio visual software, Mabuse performing live with it at London superclub Matter.

Jonny Miller (Music Production Tutor)

Jonny Miller

Jonny Miller's productions and remixes have taken in Drum & Bass and Acid Jazz, Broken Beat and Dubstep via collaborations with Garage legend Zed Bias. His work has appeared on Hed kandi, K7, Irma, Manhattan Records in Japan and UK imprints such as Phuture Lounge, Hospital Records’ Wah Wah 45s label and 4Hero's Twisted Funk Records. Jonny also ran the infamous Dub Spot club night in Manchester and managed Zed Bias' Sidestepper Recordings label.

Danny J Lewis (Music Production Tutor)

Danny J Lewis
Since his single 'Spend The Night' hit club chart at No.1and the national Top 30, Danny's music has been supported by the likes of Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, David Morales, Kenny Carpenter, Todd Edwards, Todd Terry, and  Danny Rampling and more. He's recorded for Defected, Ministry Of Sound, Afroart Records,  XL Recordings and others. Danny is currently signed to 4th Floor/Defected Records and runs his own record label, Enzyme Black Recordings.

 

Mike Koglin (Music Production Tutor)

Mike Koglin

Mike burst onto the scene in 1998 with his top 20 hit “The Silence” and has since released a string of productions and remixes, winning support from all the major players on the trance scene including Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. Mike also runs his own label Noys Music, described by Mixmag as 'one of the hottest trance labels in the UK' and last year he was named as one of the Top 100 DJs in the world in DJ Magazines annual poll.

Carroll Thompson (Singing Tutor)

Carroll Thompson

During a 25 year career in music Carroll has recorded with international stars including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Sade and many others. Signed to Virgin as a solo artist she has performed a number of Top 40 hits and scored a number one on the UK Reggae Chart with the timeless "I'm So Sorry". She teaches the Singing Course at Point Blank and remains a student favourite.
