Music Industry Careers

Point Blank has been at the forefront of professional music industry training for over a decade and students from all over the world have gone on to enjoy success as music producers, DJ’s, sound engineers and songwriters.

All of our staff have extensive experience in the music industry; from the Directors and Tutors through to the Course Advisors and office support staff. That means that our students benefit from unrivalled advice and support from experts who understand what it takes to forge a successful career in todays music business.

In addition to this expertise, our links with the music industry are the envy of other schools.  Where else can you hone your skills as a music producer and then submit your tracks for publishing? Our publishing company Point Blank Music allows our students to do just that. With the right combination of determination, dedication and hard work you could sign a publishing deal and start to earn a living from your music.

Point Blank even offers unique personal mentoring and artist development courtesy of Sugababes writer / producer Jony Rockstar. Those students who demonstrate that they have what it takes will have the opportunity to work in the studio with Jony, getting practical production and songwriting coaching and introductions to major record labels including Universal / Island.

Point Blank has outstanding A&R contacts at several major record labels. Ben Scarr is a former student and A&R Manager at Island Records – part of the Universal Music Group and the label that launched the career of artists including Amy Winehouse, Akon, Tinchy Stryder, Florence & The Machine, Ladyhawke and Bob Marley. Both Ben and Island Records President Darcus Beese are key supporters of Point Blank and are committed to creating opportunities for students who excel on their courses.

“Universal is happy to provide progression routes for Point Blank students who show real talent and determination and will be happy to consider supporting the development of outstanding students where appropriate”

Darcus Beese - President of Island Records
