DJ Course: Advanced

Overview	You've already done the Basic/ Intermediate DJ course or you have some experience in DJ-ing but are seeking to push your dj skills further. Set up	Advanced turntable and mixer set up for scratching, maintenance, pro-technical tips and troubleshooting.
Drop mixing	the art of switching from one record to another, without matching the tempos of the two records.
Beat matching	This is the most important skill in any DJ’s repertoire- Iron out any mistakes that you are making and perfect your technique
Sound and levels	Get to grips with EQ, monitoring, headphone levels, panning, and level matching.
Scratches	Learn in-depth and advanced scratching techniques and skills first-hand from a pro, including the Baby Scratch, Stabs, the Crab, the Twiddle, Tears, Lazers, Phasers, Rubs, Transforming, Drills, the Chirp, the Flare, Tip-tears, Slurs and Orbits. Discover how to use scratches creatively in a mix, and use the turntable as an instrument. Learn wordplay, complex scratching patterns, battle techniques- how to really get a crowd worked up.
Advanced mixing techniques	Mixing with 3 decks, phasing, back to back mixing, mixing with two DJs at once.
Beat Juggling	Learn how to physically manipulate two records to create new drum patterns- includes patting, delaying, using two copies of the same record.
Effects units	Creative use of effects with scratches and in the mix. Includes use of reverb, delay, echo, flangers, panning, filters, and wah-wah pedals.
Digital Recording/ editing	Record your mix using Steinberg’s Wavelab computer software. Includes an in-depth look at audio editing, saving files to different audio formats, removing mistakes from the mix and multi track sequencing using samples and effects.
CDJ1000	Learn more advanced techniques and skills that are possible with this industry standard CD deck- includes saving multiple loop points, reversing and Vinyl emulation mode.
Final Scratch	Learn how to use the latest digital mixing technology Stanton Final Scratch. Setting up your PC and connecting to a sound system, recording MP3’s (ripping), downloading, storing, using MP3’s creatively within your set.
Promotion	How to package your Mix CD, promote yourself to clubs, promoters, DJ agencies, radio stations and venues. How to put on your own night, where to hire/buy a quality sound system.
