Using Refills An explanation of the Refill concept - modular sound libraries that are portable.
How  to create your own sound libraries
Overview of Reason Devices and the Rack What each feature in Reason is for: Hardware Interface /  Mixer / Effects – sends and inserts / Redrum / Dr Rex / Malström / Subtractor
The Redrum

Tutorials explain the Redrum in detail, demonstrating pattern based drum programming. (as used on the classic 909 and 808 drum machines)
Programming 16 step beats in a range of styles. Use of swing /shuffle to add the human touch to your beats.

The  DR:Rex

Introduction to  the DR Rex Player using the Reason Factory Sound bank
Creative editing i.e. pitch of loop slices, panning, volume and filtering. Use of quantize function.
Use of  modulation section – to manipulate pitch, panning and filter effects.

Subtractor

Tutorial explains the basics of subtractive synthesis and shows how to use the Subtractor as a powerful virtual analogue synth
Demonstrates the creation of synth patches including bass, lead and effect.

Matrix Pattern sequencer Use the Matrix pattern sequencer to create an ‘acid’ style bassline. Using the Matrix to control other devices.
NN19/NNXT Samplers

Introduction to both NN19 and NNXT samplers in Reason,
Creation of multisampled patches and realtime control of filters etc.

Vocoder + Other effects

How to use all the key effects in Reason including Reverb (RV7000), Distrotion (Scream), Vocoder, EQ, Compressor and Delay.
How to sweeten up a mix . How automation can be used to liven up the effects at certain points in your track..
How to create a vocodered vocal melody using the keyboard.

Mixing+Mastering

Reason course covers: Use of compression
How EQ can be used to improve the balance of individual elements (ie more control than the mixer)
Show how you can configure Reason to act as a mastering setup and improve the track without the need for external software.
