Music College FAQs

Frequent Enquiries at the Music College

Can you send me a music college prospectus or course brochure?
We no longer produce a print prospectus for Point Blank music college because you can find all the information you need in our online course brochure. Studio technology is changing all the time and we work hard to ensure that we are teaching the latest techniques on the latest equipment. Rather than send out information which is out of date, we update the website on a weekly basis with all the latest news and course information.

Check the website regularly to keep up to date with the latest news regarding the music college, dj academy, radio and audio training courses.

How much do the training courses cost?
Once you have selected the course(s) that you are interested in from the course brochure, just click on the “Enrol Now” tab/button on the right side of the page for fee payment options and start dates.

Can I visit the studios to take a look around?
Of course. We offer a tour of the studios each Wednesday afternoon at 3pm. If you would like to visit the studios, take a look around and find out more about the music college, dj academy, radio and audio training courses on offer then just call us on +44 (0) 207 729 4884 to reserve your place.

What are the entry requirements for these courses?
In most cases there are no entry requirements. The courses that we offer start at entry-level so you don’t need any previous experience, exam grades or qualifications to start. For more experienced students, it may be possible to enrol you on a more intermediate or advanced course. To discuss your course requirements just call the course advisors on 0207 729 4884 or contact us via enquiry form and we’ll call you right back.

Do you accept international students?
Point Blank welcomes students from all over the world, however if you are applying from outside the European Union, it is highly likely that you will require a student visa in order to study in the UK. If you are studying a short course (6 months or less) then a Visitor or Tourist visa may well be sufficient. However, you are not permitted to work in the UK with this visa. If you wish to take a longer course of six months or more, then you will need to apply for a Student Visa. For further information, check the following website: www.ukvisas.gov.ukAll of our long term courses meet the criteria necessary for the award of a Student Visa. You must be able to show that you have been accepted on a course of study at an educational establishment that is on the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) Register of Education and Training Providers. You can verify Point Blank’s registration at www.dfes.gov.uk/providersregister . Simply click on “search the register” and type “Point Blank” as a search term.Once you have registered for your course, you will be issued with a letter of acceptance to assist with your application. However, the responsibility for securing the visa itself is down to the individual student and Point Blank can take no responsibility for applications that are unsuccessful. Please ensure that you qualify before you pay your registration fees, because these fees are not refundable in the event that your visa is refused.

Do you provide accomodation at the music school?
We don’t I’m afraid. If you are looking for accommodation nearby then we recommend the following websites:
www.gumtree.com
www.moveflat.com
www.rightmove.com
www.loot.com

As a rough guide, you should pay no more than £125 per week for shared accommodation. There is plenty of affordable accomodation near to the college in areas such as Highbury, Islington, Camden, Dalston and Stoke Newington. Property in the East of London (eg Bethnal Green) is generally more affordable. Point Blank is located in Hoxton, London N1. If you wish to get a clearer picture of whereabouts in London this is, then there is another useful website at: www.streetmap.co.uk

Simply type in our postcode N1 5DL and then zoom out of the map until you can see where we are in relation to the surrounding area.
