Music (Composing) - BTEC National Award Level 3

 

 

Course Overview

 

If you are aged 16-19 and considering a career in music, then this course is for you. You will gain practical insights into producing and performing music utilising the latest technology. Learn from professional music producers and performers who have worked alongside major stars including Liam Gallagher, Massive Attack, Sway, Basement Jaxx and former Point Blank student Leona Lewis.

 

Delivered in partnership with Enfield College, this BTEC music course can be combined with a National Award in Music Technology (DJ Technology) in the following year to form a qualification equivalent to a BTEC National Diploma or two 'A' Levels.

Fees

 

FREE to UK students aged 16-19

Exam fee of £115 is payable for students aged 19+
International students pay full course fee:

£5495 for 1 year course / £9890 for 2 year course

 

Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs at Grades A*- C or Pass/Intermediate at GNVQ.
  • Literacy and Numeracy at Level 1.
  • Musical ability/experience will be assessed at interview

Assessment

You will be continually assessed via tutor observation. You will  present mix CDs, project plans, keep financial project logs, write reports and create a portfolio of your work.

Progression

The qualification can lead into either a Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Music Production (which you can also take at Point Blank) or provide the points required to gain access to Higher Education.
