Allister Whitehead DJ Masterclass

A big, big thank you to Allister Whitehead who entertained students for well over an hour in our recent DJ Masterclass here at the music college.

Allister talked at length about his career as a DJ from starting out as a 17 year old to headline gigs at some of the UK's legendary clubs - The Hacienda, Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher and others across the globe. 

Students learned about the importance of networking and making contacts, about defining their own unique DJ style and playing regular gigs to gain that all important experience. Allister also fielded questions on a whole range of subjects from incorporating new technology such as Ableton Live and Serato to how to prepare for a gig and how to build a set for maximum dancefloor effect.

All in all - a very infomative and  entertaining afternoon in the company of a great DJ from the golden era of dance music. Learn more about our DJ courses here.
