Island Records Backs Point Blank
Tinchy Stryder was signed to Island Records by former Point Blank student Ben Scarr
Point Blank has been at the forefront of professional music industry training for over a decade and students from all over the world have gone on to enjoy success as music producers, DJs, sound engineers and songwriters.
Our links with the music industry are the envy of other schools and Point Blank has outstanding A&R contacts at several major record labels. Ben Scarr is a former student and A&R Manager at Island Records – part of the Universal Music Group and the label that launched the career of artists including Amy Winehouse, Akon, Tinchy Stryder, Florence & The Machine, Ladyhawke and Bob Marley.
Both Ben and Island Records President Darcus Beese are key supporters of Point Blank and are committed to creating opportunities for students who excel on their courses.
“Universal is happy to provide progression routes for Point Blank students who show real talent and determination and support the development of outstanding students” - Darcus Beese - President of Island Records
