Point Blank host A&R day for Orange Tour Winners
Point Blank recently hosted an A&R seminar for the winners of the Orange / Point Blank Workshop Tour. Top music industry figures Andrew Asamoah (Sony BMG International A&R), Tim Vigon (manager of The Streets), DJ Allister Whitehead and Label manager / DJ / Producer Lloyd Seymour were all in attendance to give feedback and advice to the competition winners.
After a productive morning in the studios putting the finishing touches to their tracks, the Orange winners assembled in Point Blank’s chill-out room to put the music industry panel through their paces. The winners were hungry for information and grilled the panel on a range of subjects from playing live to publishing. This was followed by an informal listening session where the panellists gave some invaluable expert advice on the music produced and the next steps for our budding producers. They all agreed that the standard of the work produced was phenomenal and that all the winners had a natural aptitude for music.
Lawrence Martin was named most promising producer and therefore won the scholarship to Point Blank’s award-winning Music Production course. Worthy mentions also go to Leo Faure, Chris Treacy, Scott Martin and Paul Harrison who all contributed their talents to a successful tour.
Thanks to everyone involved from Orange and a special thank you to Andrew, Tim, Allister and Lloyd for their support and advice.
