Free DJ Course - Looping
“Looping” is a classic DJ trick that is performed by vinyl DJs using two copies of the same record by playing a phrase on one copy while cueing up the exact same phrase on the other copy (on the other deck) and then mixing it in, again and again on alternating decks, so smoothly that the audience hears it as if the record itself continually repeats the phrase.
CD decks have long offered a looping feature that allows the DJ to hit a “start” button at any point in the tune, and an “end” button afterwards, and then a “loop” button that then automatically plays just the section between them over and over. |
