New studios unveiled at Point Blank Music College
Award winning music college Point Blank has completed a major makeover of it's London studios. The refurbishments include two new studio classrooms and the addition of a large format Oram mixing console to Studio 1. This increases the total number of studio classrooms to 8 (plus two live recording areas). Every student at Point Blank has access to the studio facilities 7 days a week as part of their course.

Studio 1
The pride of Studio 1 is a newly delivered Oram BEQ series 24 mixing desk. John Oram is a legendary name in the recording industry with over 40 years experience dating back to Vox amps in the 60´s and the classic Trident consoles. The BEQ series 24 is widely regarded as his best analogue console design to this day and is used at studios all over the world, notably Skywalker Sound in California. The addition of the new desk represents a further opportunity for students to get hands-on experience with the same professional equipment used in leading studios.
Performance Studio
The college also boasts a new performance space aimed at students of the Singing Course. Here students are put through their paces by Grammy winning vocal tutor Phil Ramacon. The course is a comprehensive guide for singers which incorporates everything from vocal warm-ups and technical exercises to songwriting skills and studio recording. Enrolments on this course have exceeded all expectations since former Point Blank student Leona Lewis hit number one on both sides of the Atlantic. The performance studio has been purpose built to meet the demand.
Studio 4
The college has also taken delivery of 15 dual core 2.8GHz iMacs which are at the heart of a brand new music production studio. Here students take weekly classes based around Logic 8 and other software. As always, classes are tutored by professional music producers and class sizes are limited to ensure plenty of one-to-one coaching. If you want to learn how to get the most out of your home or project studio, then this is the place.
Courses are now enrolling for September 2008 and demand is high. If you would like to check out the new facilities for yourself then call a course advisor to make an appointment for a studio tour: 0207 729 4884.
